10-19-20  THOUGHTS

The devil is not some red pitchfork caricature in a cartoon!  He is alive and active.  
1Pet 5:8-11   Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 9  But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world. 10   After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you. 11  To Him be dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Luke 22:31-32    "Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded [permission] to sift you like wheat;  32  but I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and you, when once you have turned again, strengthen your brothers."
A couple of verses later, Jesus tells Peter that he will deny him.  The story of Job, the temptation of our Lord show Satan as an active power, the power of evil.  There’s a War in process!
Eph 4:27   and do not give the devil an opportunity.
Eph 6:10-13   Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. 11  Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. 12  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13  Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.
Eph 6:16   in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil [one.]
2Cor 2:11 so that no advantage would be taken of us by Satan, for we are not ignorant of his schemes.
Rev 12:10-11   Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, "Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night.  11  "And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death.
Matt 4:10   Then Jesus said to him, "Go, Satan! For it is written, ‘YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD, AND SERVE HIM ONLY.’"
In the most simple terms...  Our job!
        Jas 4:7  Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
Rom 8:37    But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.

My Prayer:
Thank you Oh God for being the supreme power.  Help us to resist Satan and flee from him. Keep our hearts positive as we struggle in life.  May we see you so clearly and continually that we, with rejoicing, can overcome each day.  Help us to love you with every fiber of our being.
